This session will help participants…

  1. understand the findings within state policies and procedures for assessing and reporting treatment fidelity as part of decision-making within RtI.
  2. learn about specific examples found within state materials (e.g., documents, explanations, etc.,) that serve as exemplars of how to assess and report treatment fidelity and attendees may wish to review and use in districts/states as RtI policies and procedures are developed/improved.
  3. understand the current research and gain a better understanding of best practices for assessing and reporting treatment fidelity as part decision-making for RtI.

Description

This paper reviewed state department of education websites for 17 states known to use RTI for SLD identification and reported the findings of any requirements or recommendations for assessing and reporting treatment fidelity (TF). The session provides a brief overview of best practices for assessing and reporting TF, reviews findings within state policies and procedures for TF, and concludes with TF examples attendees can review and use in their own districts and states when using RTI.
