This session will help participants…

  1. consider how commonly used individual and group counseling practices can contribute to inequities and instead consider the use of practices that are culturally responsive; and
  2. learn about ways to ensure that verbal and written communication used during the provision of mental health services and psychological writing is socially just.
  3. identify culturally responsive practices to address school-wide mental health needs of children and adolescents;

Description

This workshop will present mental health practices that support school-wide change, as well as those that empower practitioners to engage in socially just services at the individual and group levels.
