Schools that are more aware of interventions tailored to ASD that can make significant progress in educating children on the spectrum. With the goal of promoting educators’ use of evidence-based practices for ASD (from EI to transition-to-community), this mini skills workshop will teach strategies that work and provide resources and examples from practice.

Workshop Objectives:

This session will help participants

  1. discover at least one new concept/resource that can be described before leaving the presentation,
  2. become inspired to apply that resource with an individual on the spectrum in order to improve outcomes, and
  3. design future interventions for students with ASD from a broader developmental framework.

Prerequisite Knowledge

Practical Tools

The presentation will review a plethora of resources that will be practical at the workshop as much as after the conference. Most challenges for practitioners revolve around assessment, behavior, social skills, communication, and transition planning. The workshop will provide tools to address all of these areas.
