Creating safe and supportive schools that are free from bullying, discrimination, harassment, aggression, violence, and abuse is essential to the mission of schools. This presentation will discuss the essential elements of a comprehensive, school-wide bullying prevention and intervention plan, as well as practical and evidence-based interventions to implement in schools.

 

Workshop Objectives:

 

This session will help participants

  1. identify the basic elements of bullying behavior;
  2. understand the elements of a comprehensive, school-wide bullying prevention and intervention plan; and
  3. familiarize with evidence-based approaches to bullying prevention and intervention.

 

Prerequisite Knowledge

Basic knowledge of bullying facts and impact upon learning.

 

Practical Tools

Models of comprehensive bullying prevention school policies, MTSS models for bullying prevention and response, and specific strategies for prevention and response.
