The purpose of this presentation is to review how schools can use functional behavior assessment (FBA) to enhance the effectiveness of their Tier 2 behavioral intervention efforts. Information will be provided on brief and efficient tools, as well as specific function-based intervention strategies. Access will be provided to free assessment tools and intervention materials.

Workshop Objectives:

This session will help participants

1. learn about brief functional behavior assessment tools that are suitable for use at Tier 2, and
2. learn how to use these assessments to inform the selection and development of function-based Tier 2 interventions.

Prerequisite Knowledge

Attendees should have some basic understanding of applied behavior analysis and multitiered systems of support.

Practical Tools

Attendees will have access to brief and free FBA tools. Attendees will also leave with information regarding function-based interventions that can be used at Tier 2.
