Many supervisors “figure it out” through experience, but specific training in supervision can help to facilitate effective working relationships and prevent time-consuming and stress-inducing problems. Learn how to set the stage for success, deliver effective feedback, and support difficult supervisees.

 

Workshop Objectives:

 

This session will help participants

  1. explain how to use a supervision contract to establish and maintain an effective working relationship,
  2. apply multiple methods of providing supervisee feedback, and
  3. identify strategies for supporting supervisees exhibiting problem behaviors.

 

Prerequisite Knowledge

Attendees with or without prior experience as supervisors can benefit from this workshop, but those who function in some form of supervisory role, be it working with school psychology trainees/practitioners or a colleagues from related fields, may find themselves most readily able to apply the strategies and concepts that will be covered. School psychologists who have not previously provided supervision, but are interested in assuming a supervisory role, are also encouraged to attend.
