To discuss and teach selected skills from the DBT STEPS-A curriculum as an upstream approach for reducing adolescent self-harming and suicidal behavior through emotion regulation, decision- making, and distress tolerance skills. With increased rates of adolescent suicide and self-harming behavior, proactive approaches at the universal level are needed to stem the flow of students who may experience emotionally dysregulated behaviors.
