* Winthrop offers a very good financial package including numerous scholarships as well as a paid practicum during the second year that is also supplemented with tuition waivers. During the third year, there is also a paid internship with the site being provided by the program and also supplemented with tuition waivers.

The program provides several scholarships for first-year students. These range from $2,000 to $5,000. We also control several graduate assistantships for first-year students. These provide a stipend of 3,500 (per semester) for 20 hours of work. These also come with a tuition waiver totaling $3,500 per semester.

All students with prior graduate degrees in related areas are evaluated on the basis of equivalency of coursework and fieldwork to those required by our program. Such students may be admitted to advanced standing in the program only as their preparation allows and openings in our program exist.

The 2010 NASP Standards for Graduate Preparation of School Psychologists defines a school setting as “…one in which the primary goal is the education of students of diverse backgrounds, characteristics, abilities, disabilities, and needs.
