* The William James College School Psychology Programs train practitioners through extensive integration of field work and course work; faculty are experienced practitioners and active within the school psychology community. The program prepares students for a broad role in school psychology, and emphasizes behavioral health and prevention. Students also have opportunities to participate in cross-departmental concentrations, including African & Caribbean Mental Health, Children & Families of Adversity & Resilience (CFAR), Global Mental Health, Asian Mental Health, Latino Mental Health, and Military & Veterans Psychology, as well as program-specific concentrations, including Applied Behavior Analysis and Transformative School Leadership.

The 2010 NASP Standards for Graduate Preparation of School Psychologists defines a school setting as “…one in which the primary goal is the education of students of diverse backgrounds, characteristics, abilities, disabilities, and needs. Generally, a school setting includes students who are enrolled in Grades pre-K–12 and has both general education and special education services. The school setting has available an internal or external pupil services unit that includes at least one state-credentialed school psychologist and provides a full range of school psychology services.”
