This session will help participants…

  1. understand the importance of ELD support for ELLs;
  2. determine whether ELLs should be referred for a special education evaluation or not; and
  3. refer ELLs with disabilities at an earlier age through ELD and response to intervention support.

Description

English language development (ELD) and response to intervention increased the reading rate for English language learners (ELLs) with no disabilities, and it helped better identify students needing to be assessed for special education.
