This session will help participants…

  1. describe cultural variables that contribute to resilience in youth with depression;
  2. describe cultural considerations when consulting with immigrant families and youth, as outlined by Domains 7 and 8 of the NASP Practice Model; and
  3. describe variables related to the resettlement process for immigrant youth and how these considerations can help promote safe and supportive schools, as outlined by Domain 6 of the NASP Practice Model.

Description

This literature review describes measures and outcomes used to operationalize culture, depression, and resilience in immigrant youth, and how cultural factors contribute to resilience in immigrant youth with depression.
