Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. define trauma-informed care clearly and concisely;
  2. identify at least two current training or education programs on trauma-informed care for teachers;
  3. list at least two teachers’ responsibilities within trauma-informed care;
  4. describe at least two teachers’ perspectives of and/or experiences with trauma-informed care; and
  5. determine what factors have a positive or negative influence over teachers’ well-being.

Description

As the effects of trauma are experienced by students and teachers in the classroom, teachers’ roles, perspectives of, and experiences with trauma-informed care must be understood to improve teachers’ well-being.
