Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. describe the postsecondary options available for first-generation students and the disparities that exist among the educational trajectories and financial outcomes;
  2. identify practices that support transition to postsecondary education for first-generation students with disabilities; and
  3. identify Tier 1 and advocacy practices that practitioners can engage in to support access to postsecondary education for first-generation students.

Description

This presentation will provide practitioners with knowledge and practices that can be used to promote postsecondary success in first-generation students with and without disabilities.
