  1. reflect on some of the differences in stressors between South Asian American and South Asian contexts.
  2. consider applicability of mental health promotion strategies within South Asian youth and families to current work.
  3. identify youth mental health promotion strategies that may work in South Asian families, in both the United States and abroad.

Description

This symposium explores barriers and ways to promote mental health in South Asian youth in the family unit and individually. We present international and U.S.-based studies and discuss contextual differences.
