This session will help participants…

  1. identify critical aspects of a CBT approach when working with children and adolescents.
  2. identify and use data to develop an appropriate case conceptualization to select evidence-based interventions.
  3. use specific brief CBT techniques with different mental health concerns.
  4. incorporate metaphor, pop culture, and improv to enhance treatment buy-in and exposure options.


Strategic aspects of CBT in a brief-care model linking case conceptualization to evidence-based intervention will be provided. Transdiagnostic treatment approaches will be discussed using strategies to enhance student buy-in.
