This session will help participants…

  1. become knowledgeable of the legal frameworks surrounding causes of action and legal issues inherent in addressing bullying claims;
  2. understand policies, practices, and procedures, including documentation checklists, that can be implemented to reduce or avoid legal liability; and
  3. develop leadership opportunities, workshop topics, and a decision tree detailing appropriate responses to various bullying situations.

Description

Presenters will discuss how school districts can best prevent legal liability in bullying lawsuits by implementing specific policies, practices, and procedures, and show how school psychologists can provide leadership.
