Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. develop a critical analysis of school belonging for intersectionally minoritized groups;
  2. learn procedures for implementing modified Check-In/Check-Out with high school students using a reciprocal peer mentor model; and
  3. review results of an intervention designed to address problem behavior, academic engagement, and school belonging for high school students.

Description

A school-based peer-mediated intervention was conducted with high school students from minoritized backgrounds. Students were trained using a critical dialogic approach, designed to improve behavior and feelings of belonging.
