This session will help participants…

  1. understand the relevance of filtering irrelevant tactile information in classroom settings for individuals with autism;
  2. differentiate between previous definition of tactile overresponsivity and current definition; and
  3. gain understanding of how Sensory Profile can be used to determine tactile overresponsivity.

Description

The purpose of this study is to look at the relationship between the performance of children with and without autism on tactile psychophysics tasks and parent reports of tactile overresponsivity.
