- Poster Session 8: Promoting Academic Success
Learner Objectives
This session will help participants…
- learn why learning speed measures should be used to compare and select interventions designed to prevent and remedy academic deficits;
- understand how failure to evaluate and compare interventions using measures of learning speed may aversely affect students, educators, and learning scientists attempting to inform practice; and
- understand current challenges and future directions in measuring learning speed, including dose-response curve analysis, reinforcer selection, and time spent assessing students.
Description
Several metrics measure learning, but failure to consider learning speed comes with costs. We use research-based arguments to support including measures of learning speed when evaluating and comparing academic interventions.
