This session will help participants…
- explore the current literature on exclusionary disciplinary practices among Black preschool-age children in early childhood programs;
- describe the theoretical frameworks that aim to explain the discrepancies in the discipline rates of Black preschool-age children in comparison to their peers; and
- understand the short-term and long-term familial impact of suspension and expulsion of Black preschool-age children.
Description
The suspension and expulsion of Black preschool-age children continues to occur each day. Come learn about the impact on Black parents and families, and the importance of culturally responsive supports.
