This session will help participants…

  1. apply an understanding of the implications of disproportionality in school discipline generally, to the creation and implementation of mental health interventions for students who interacted with the foster care system;
  2. explain the causes and implication of racially and economically marginalized students who are impacted by disproportionality in school disciplinary procedures; and
  3. explore the possibility of disproportionality existing in a multidimensional treatment foster care facility and how this may impact children who have exited the foster care system when referring them to mental and behavioral health services in schools.
