This session will help participants…
- learn the similarities and differences in early childhood play development between typically developing children and those developing with delays through presentation of empirical results;
- apply descriptive categories of children’s play through presentation of videotaped case examples; and
- become familiar with the play assessment system and how school psychologists can link results to data-based intervention decisions for young children through analysis of practice examples.
Description
We demonstrate an assessment system for evaluating a child's play abilities derived from our empirical investigations of early childhood play development in typically developing children and those developing with delays.
