This session will help participants…

  1. learn about the school-to-prison pipeline and factors that contribute it;
  2. understand how the school-to-prison pipeline affects students with disabilities, specifically students of color; and
  3. understand ways school psychologists and school personnel can engage in micro- and macro-level change to address this social justice issue.

Description

Schools are the primary referral of youth to juvenile and criminal justice systems. Learn about the intersectionality of the school-to-prison pipeline and special education and ways to disrupt the pipeline.
