Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. learn about the latest research on the effects of school shootings on students;
  2. understand research-based interventions that have been found to decrease the negative effects of a traumatic event; and
  3. implement preventive measures and trauma-informed practices that increase protective factors for youth following a trauma.

Description

This research educates students and practitioners on the differing impacts of school shootings on students' well-being and identifies risk and protective factors and research-based interventions mitigating trauma.
