This session will help participants…

  1. be prepared to cultivate a supportive experience for their SGM students in their schools;
  2. gain a more comprehensive understanding of why SGM youth need affirming support through literature and minority stress theory; and
  3. learn how to meet the needs of SGM youth with resources and strategies across MTSS tiers.

Description

This presentation will discuss the value of delivering affirmative care to SGM students in schools and introduce empirically based programs and practices that provide affirmative care across the MTSS framework's tiers.
