Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. identify a multitude of risk and protective factors impacting suicidality for students with a variety of demographic backgrounds (NASP Practice Model Domains 4 and 8);
  2. analyze currently available suicide intervention programs and examine their research evidence as outlined by the NASP Practice Model in Domains 4, 6, and 9; and
  3. describe how suicide prevention and risk assessment fits into the comprehensive role of a school psychologist as outlined by the NASP Practice Model in Domains 2, 4, 7, and 10.
