  1. explain the historical underrepresentation of Black and African American students in AP courses,
  2. describe Black students’ perceptions of barriers and facilitators for AP course access, and
  3. apply recommendations for what school psychologists can do to improve AP course accessibility.

Description

A critical qualitative research study to understand facilitators and barriers for Advanced Placement course access as perceived by Black students. Implications for improving perceived access for underrepresented students are shared.
