Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. increase awareness of the current mental and behavioral health realities of Black youth in the United States.
  2. understand the relationship between adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), positive childhood experiences (PCEs), mental and behavioral health outcomes, and school engagement outcomes; and
  3. understand of the buffering impacts of PCEs on Black youth's mental health and academic outcomes.
