Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. assess their own perspectives on SLD eligibility and apply evidence-based approaches to their assessment and consultation activities;
  2. apply critical thinking as consumers of professional development opportunities related to SLD;
  3. describe trends in professional development for SLD eligibility assessment and alignment with evidence-based practices; and
  4. describe a regional sample of school psychology training programs' orientation related to psychoeducational and cognitive assessment courses and how that might relate to district practices.

Description

This session will explore regional trends in SLD eligibility assessment models by considering graduate programs’ training focus and local professional development opportunities.
