Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. understand the impact of racial trauma and COVID-19-related hate crimes on AAAPI students and families;
  2. develop proactive and reactive strategies on the individual and institutional levels to support AAAPI students and families; and
  3. learn appropriate strategies when working with AAAPI families as school psychologists and allies.

Description

What are Asian students schooling experiences like? Through 10 interviews, AAAPI college students revealed their retrospective experiences of school bullying, discrimination, and support needed. Effectively support AAAPI students experiencing discrimination.
