Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. understand the foundational skills involved in Teacher-Child Interaction Training, including behavior-specific praise, reflections, and behavioral descriptions;
  2. learn about an interdisciplinary training model wherein school psychologists, counselors, and special education teachers are collaboratively trained and coached in TCIT; and
  3. explore data regarding the effectiveness of TCIT in interdisciplinary preparation.

Description

Positive relationships can improve children’s social–emotional well-being. Learn about the use of TCIT in one interdisciplinary personnel preparation grant aimed to support preservice special educators, school psychologists, and school counselors.
