Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. apply knowledge of ASD-related behaviors to understand the gaps in current intervention options for college students with ASD and comorbid anxiety;
  2. consider Heart Rate Variability Biofeedback Therapy (HRVBT) and its potential for improving anxiety treatment with ASD populations; and
  3. examine the impact that HRVBT has on both perceived and physiological markers of anxiety in a cohort of college students with ASD.

Description

College students with autism face an increased risk for developing anxiety disorders. This poster outlines the results of using biofeedback to reduce perceived and physiological anxiety markers in ASD populations.
