This session will help participants…

  1. understand the limitations of the current social skills intervention literature;
  2. determine the impacts of social skills interventions autistic adults received as children; and
  3. describe how culturally responsive social skills interventions fit into a comprehensive role as outlined by the NASP Practice Model.

Description

There is significant need for autistic individuals’ input regarding intervention selection and implementation. This presentation will discuss qualitative findings exploring autistic adults’ experiences with social skills interventions during their childhood.
