Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. describe the school psychology workforce shortage and why it is important to have culturally and linguistically diverse mental health professionals in school;
  2. list three key components of the school mental health workforce development program;
  3. articulate one new strategy for engaging youth from diverse backgrounds in school-based mental health within their own schools/communities; and
  4. explain the positive impact of culturally and linguistically diverse facilitators sharing their experience and knowledge of school mental health careers with youth.

Description

Learn about a program that utilizes participatory action research to promote mental health literacy and school-based mental health career exposure with culturally and linguistically diverse high school students.
