Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. understand how evidence-based teamwork strategies are used in the practice of other school providers, and what is needed to extend these strategies to their own school mental health service teams;
  2. identify barriers to implementation and sustainment of teamwork strategies and understand how to advocate for policies and practices that facilitate better team functioning; and
  3. understand how TeamSTEPPS can help facilitate broader organizational principles of effective schools (i.e., Climate, Professional Communication) as outlined in the NASP Practice Model. 

Description

This paper details the qualitative findings from school stakeholder interviews regarding the feasibility and acceptability of TeamSTEPPS, an evidence-based teamwork intervention that was adapted for school mental health teams.
