PA405: Back to Bayes-ics: Quantifying Uncertainty in Universal Screening

Wednesday, February 14, 2024
2:00 PM–2:50 PM CST

  • PMD: 1,9
  • Cost: Included in Registration
  • Skill Level: Advanced
  • Poster Session 2: Assessment and Intervention in an RTI Framework

Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. learn about practical examples of Bayesian ordinal models and have access to open (simulated) data as well as open-source software tools;
  2. understand Bayesian ordinal models for universal screening; and
  3. improve their knowledge of quantifying uncertainty in screening and why this is important for improving research and practice.

Description

We describe applications of multilevel Bayesian ordinal regression for modeling universal screener accuracy. We discuss strengths and limitations of this approach and its potential to improve research and practice.
