Learner Objectives
This session will help participants…
- learn about the research base related to the Family as Faculty framework and its relevance to early training for school psychologists;
- learn about a study investigating the inclusion of parents within a school psychology course, including how families contributed to course content and instruction and its impact on candidates’ learning outcomes; and
- understand how trainers in school psychology programs can infuse Family as Faculty in their own programming for the purpose of increasing culturally responsive preservice training.
Description
Improving candidates’ ability to more effectively partner with families is critically needed to better support students of color and those from marginalized communities. Learn strategies to strategically enhance candidate training.
