  1. gain a general understanding of how to support children and parents who have experienced DV;
  2. acquire specific TF-CBT skills and strategies to educate and involve parents effectively in their child’s treatment; and
  3. recognize and address common cultural, systemic, and personal barriers to parents, caregivers, and staff when implementing TF-CBT in schools

Description

Skills for practitioners to effectively involve parents/caregivers in their child’s treatment using trauma-focused CBT for children experiencing domestic violence (DV). Barriers, cultural considerations, and suggestions for school-based implementation are discussed.
