Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. recognize the ways in which internalizing mental health symptoms may present for youth with autism across intersecting identities and factors;
  2. reflect on the assessment practices at their site which examine internalizing mental health symptoms among youth with autism; and
  3. assess the universal, preventive, and targeted practices at their site which address internalizing mental health concerns among youth with autism.

Description

Youth with autism have unique experiences with internalizing mental health symptoms. Participants will identify steps they can take to facilitate a supportive environment for students with autism at their school.
