Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. preview intervention strategies with efficacy for autistic students experiencing suicidality;
  2. identify social and biological factors that influence suicidality in autistic students;
  3. identify unique features and presentation of suicidality in autistic students; and
  4. gain familiarity with risk assessment and safety plan development inclusive of protective factors (community and provider referrals, parent training).

Description

This session will focus on the attributes that contribute to heightened risk, assessment, safety planning, and intervention strategies for autistic children and adolescents experiencing suicidal ideation.
