Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. identify key qualities of community-engaged research and practice as well as its benefits;
  2. understand and discuss their positionality as it relates to power hierarchies in relevant research and practice contexts; and
  3. practice applying principles of community-engaged work to practical examples as well as within their own contexts.

Description

The session will begin with an overview of the main ideas of community-engaged research and practice. Participants will engage in applied activities, including vignettes, positionality exercises, discussions, and relationship mapping.
