This session will help participants…

  1. examine the different stressful experiences of Black adolescents during COVID-19;
  2. facilitate conversations with Black adolescents about their need for social supports during stressful situations; and
  3. understand how collective stress can lead to stress-related growth and enhanced cognitive and affective functioning in Black adolescents.

Description

Can stress during collective crisis cause growth in Black adolescents? A qualitative research study details how social support from various sources may have assisted in stress related growth during COVID-19.
