Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. identify the distinctive challenges encountered by mental health care providers during the COVID-19 crisis;
  2. identify growth opportunities propagated from this national crisis to refine quality of care and clinician wellness strategies; and
  3. synthesize information obtained from this study and ensuing discussion to aid themselves and other practitioners, professional organizations, and policy makers in understanding the implications of challenges encountered by mental health professionals who have been serving the widely recognized increased mental health care needs of clients and patients during these national crises.

Description

This presentation shares the results of a study exploring challenges and posttraumatic growth encountered by mental health care providers in the context of the pandemic with implications for training, policy, and professional organizations.
