This session will help participants…

  1. understand the effectiveness and efficiency of video modeling (VM) as a training methodology for teaching the first three phases of the picture exchange communication system (PECS);
  2. identify the benefits of utilizing VM alone, without voice-over narration or written screen text, in training future professionals in PECS implementation; and
  3. identify how VM can lead to immediate skill acquisition and mastery in PECS, with potential for generalization to new learners, desired items, and picture cards.
