Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. recognize the unique academic and psychosocial needs of K–12 students with orofacial clefts;
  2. understand the role school psychologists may have in supporting students with orofacial clefts; and
  3. become knowledgeable of specific practice recommendations for appropriate assessment, consultation, and intervention.

Description

Schools are often unprepared for the complex psychoeducational needs of students with orofacial clefts. This session provides an introductory overview of orofacial clefts and best practices for school-based support services.
