Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. describe characteristics and challenges that rural school districts face when addressing internalizing mental health disorders like anxiety and depression;
  2. analyze how rural school psychologist self-efficacy for mental health counseling, specifically internalizing disorders, is impacted by the number of years practicing and their school district’s mental health resources; and
  3. develop hypotheses for improved self-efficacy among rural school psychologists in regard to mental health services for internalizing disorders, such as anxiety and depression.

Description

Examine how the level of expertise and the perception of school mental health resources influences the self-efficacy of rural school psychologists in providing mental health services for anxiety and depression.
