Learner Objectives

This session will help participants…

  1. use nondiscriminatory, strength-based, and culturally responsive practices when working with immigrant children;
  2. educate stakeholders about the effects of political climate and laws on immigrant children's well-being; and
  3. identify core stressors, trauma risk levels, and targeted interventions for immigrant children using evidence-based strategies.

Description

We will discuss asset-oriented, culturally responsive supports needed to build and sustain welcoming learning environments with equitable educational opportunities for immigrant children through responsive interconnected multitiered systems of support.
