This session will help participants…

  1. define terminology related to racial trauma and stress,
  2. examine the compounding effects of ongoing racial trauma in youth across pre-K–12th grade, and
  3. identify methods to adapt current school-based mental health services for youth subjected to racial trauma through a culturally humble lens.

Description

Black and Brown students are subjected to ongoing acts of racial discrimination and trauma which impacts their success in schools. Participants will learn strategies to mitigate their effects.
