Katie R. Eklund, PhD, NCSP, isan Assistant Professor in the School Psychology Program at the University ofMissouri. Prior to entering academia, Dr. Eklund worked in public education for10 years as a school administrator, school psychologist, and social worker. Sheis currently a Nationally Certified School Psychologist and licensed psychologist.Dr. Eklund has authored a number of publications on school mental health,including early identification and intervention for childhood behavioral andemotional concerns, school climate, and school safety. Her current researchprojects include implementation of universal screening and Tier 2 social–emotionalinterventions in K–12 schools, and investigating the impact of school resource officerson school climate and safety.
